THE STICKERS, are one of the fastest rising new stars in country music. Hailing from Western Pennsylvania, the band has been experiencing lightening speed success since releasing their debut CD mid summer. Success with live shows, movies, radio airplay and business relationships have dominated their summer. The band continues to write their story with unprecedented accomplishments. Labor Day weekend added one more page to the band's storied tale.
The Stickers have teamed up with a new partner Nub Cigars. On Thursday September 3rd as Nub released its newest Cigar, "Cain", The Stickers helped launch the national release of Nub's newest product with a special performance at the Allegheny Cigar Shop in Baldwin, Pennsylvania. The combination of the two proved to be a roaring success and the start of a long relationship that make both groups proud to be partners.
As fast as the Stickers star continues to rise, Nub has had the same success. Nub inventor, Sam Luccia, invented the Nub in his garage right here in Pittsburgh. His products have dominated the cigar world. The popularity of the Nub line has made Mr. Luccia's brand one of the most sought after products of cigar afficiondas world wide.
Thursday night Sam stated, "We are just hometown Pittsburghers working hard, trying to make some noise in our professions. These guys play music, I roll cigars... what better combination can you have than that!" Adds The Stickers lead singer, Joe Wodarek, "My brothers and I were born and raised in Pittsburgh and we love our town, to be able to pair up with Pittsburgh people and companies like Sam and Nub and like Mike Dolan and Smithfield Street Productions, all of us working our crafts onto a world stage but staying rooted in Pittsburgh is a great thing for our communities and our city. To partner with a company is an accomplishment, but to partner with hometown friends who are taking that same journey and fighting the same battles to get to the next level - these are bonds that go beyond sponsorships and we couldnt be more proud to be working together to grow our passions."
The Nub launch was all about passion. Passionate Fans poured upon the Allegheny Shop on Route 51 south bringing in the largest crowd of any event since the store opened. Traffic along main artery Route 51 came to a halt as fans tried to file in for the event and motorist tried to catch a glimpse of the show. Longtime Stickers fan Dee Rapali commented, "I have followed these guys from their starts in small out of the way bar rooms to the shows they have been doing now and have never seen anything like this! To set up on a weekday night against a Steelers away TV game, in a parking lot and draw this kind of crowd! Stopping traffic on a main street like this! I told these guys something is happening here this just doesnt happen like this and I am just thrilled to be able to be here and be part of it!"
The Stickers Radio success continues adding more regional radio stations like Froggy 99 in Parkersburg WV, Cat Country radio in PA and others to the ever growing list. The Stickers are now on the eve of a nationwide launch of their current single "Girl In A Pick Up Truck" that currently resides in the top 100 on the nationwide charts and is sure to get a boost in the coming weeks.
Adds drummer Jim Wodarek, "We love writing and playing music that touches people. The greatest pay off is when someone tells us they enjoyed the show or like the song. We cant encourage people enough, if you like what you hear call your stations and request us."
